TestDrive: a Social Media Simulation Site

As parents and educators, we understand the importance of teaching our kids safe, healthy and positive use of social media. In the past, we learned by diving into these waters and learning in the process. Luckily, out kids don't have to risk by entering the world of social media unprepared, thanks to a simulation experience developed by Cornell University's Social Lab and Common Sense Education. TestDrive is an interactive course consisting of several modules: Accounts and Passwords, The Ups and Downs of Social Media, Responding to Breaking News, Is It Private Information, Shaping Your Digital Footprint, How to Be an Upstander, Healthy Social Media Habits, Social Media Privacy, Ads on Social Media, Scams and Phishing, and News in Social Media.

Go to https://socialmediatestdrive.org/modules.html and help your student learn the crucial skills of navigating the social media. The program is geared towards the middle school aged youth, but it can be a valuable tool for learners of any age.
